Former Ghanaian international Karim Abdul Razak Tanko has vowed not to apply for the Black Stars vacant position even though he qualifies.
The 63 year old Abdul Razak popularly known as “Golden Boy” does not see the need for applying for the job before he is considered.
According to him, he has played and won trophy for the nation, he has coached at all levels and that should be enough for him to be considered.
In an interview with the award winning sports journalist, Don summer one on Angel FM, Abdul Razak the Golden Boy disclosed that he has applied on many occasions but he was not considered, therefore he is not going to apply again.
“France will not ask Zidane to apply before they give him the national team. They see him to be capable and when they need him they will just call him but that is not the case in Ghana.” He said
On the issue of Accra Hearts of Oak coaching job, he said he has not been contacted yet but when they do so, he is ever ready to come and help them.
“My team here in Togo played a friendly game with them even though we were beaten by a goal. My team is a second division side.
They saw the work I have been doing here so if they need me, it is just a matter of contacting me and I am ready to come home.” he added
Abdul Razak the Golden Boy helped the national team win the African Cup of Nations in 1978 and was named African footballer of the year later that year.
He played for many clubs both home and abroad including Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Al Ain FC, Arab Contractors and many other clubs.
