Reports emanating from Italy have it that the 22-year old forward who recently resumed training at Napoli will play at the Total Energies AFCON with a mask.
The latest twist means the ex-Lille striker adds to attacking options available for stand-in coach Augustine Eguavoen.
Osimhen counts 10 goals in 19 appearances for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, from his debut for the senior national.
The striker scored six goals to help Nigeria reach the last bend of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in the African zone and having him back boast the chances of the three time African Champions.
