32-year-old veteran Nigerien striker and Cotonsport marksman, Daouda Kamilou, during his post match reactions after his team’s parity with Union Sportive of Douala, told his reporters that he is going to be more steady since the next national team duty comes in about 9 months.
Despite the poacher not scoring or registering an assist on the day, his decoy and darting runs helped Thierry Tchuente score his brace against Union Sportive of Douala.
The longest serving player ever to don the jersey of Cotonsport of Garoua said ” I wasn’t steady. For about two years I have been visiting the national team and returning. Now, I am back, and we have until about nine months till national team duties. I hope that break helps me concentrate on the Cameroon League,” he ended.
Daouda Kamilou is a household name in Cameroon’s top-flight and has scored over 174 goals for Cotonsport since making his debut in 2007.
Last season’s statistics shows that Cotonsport’s all-time leading goalscorer is still hungry for goals. Kamilou was the joint top scorer alongside Serge Ekollo Malolo with 10 goals each.
