For the second consecutive time, the duo of Oduduru Divine and Okagbare Blessing have been withdrawn from the startlist of a major meet.

Both were initially listed in the 200m provisional list of the Gyulai István Memoria, but are now excluded.

It will be recalled that had reported that the duo missed the Lausanne Diamond League allegedly because of visa issues.

The situation is shrouded in obscurity as no reason has been given and no statement has been released by the Nigeria Athletic Federation as regards the issue.

Nigeria’s Divine Oduduru was to make his professional debut at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial meet in Budapest, Hungary. Oduduru has been listed in the men’s 200m alongside the likes of Ramil Guliyev, Christian Coleman & Aaron Brown.

While Blessing Okagbare was to compete at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial squaring up against Shaunae Miller-Uibo & Marie Josee Ta Lou in women’s 200m.

It would have been Okagbare’s 4th 200m of 2019.

Nigerians and sports enthusiasts will now shift focus to the Diamond League in Monaco and will hope there will be no obstacle to the duo’s appearance when the league takes place.
