Former Indomitable Lions of Cameroon trainer Hugo Henry Broos is heavily linked with the vacant coaching job of the DR Congo national selection.
The country’s football federation is in the market for a replacement of Coach Nsengi-Biembe, who was dismissed following a disappointing 2021 AFCON qualifiers.
Amongst the options on the Congolese media is Hugo Henry Broos who won the 2017 AFCON tournament in Gabon with Cameroon.
Broos who previously worked in Cameroon is an experienced trainer with the aptitude to change the fortunes of DR Congo which has been dwindling for over a decade.
The 68-year told kick442.com in an exclusive interview in November that he had unfinished business and will be back in Africa for that.
Former Ivory Coast manager Marc Wilmots, Michel Prud’Homme are also linked with the Leopards job.
The Congolese Federation’s president is expected to make a decision as soon as possible with the 2022 world cup qualifiers in sight.
The South African Football Federation is also monitoring the gaffer’s situation.
