Players and Staffs of Tiko United FC have recieved football kits to enable them better prepare for the upcoming Southwest Regional League season.
Thursday, February 24, is Fair to be qualified as a good day for the Samba boys because President of the Fako Chiefs Conference, his Majesty Chief Kombe Richard Ndike watched the team’s training session and has donated 10 balls to the club for use in the upcoming season and even beyond.
This gesture happened at the Tiko town green stadium where a number of the club’s players have been training in preparations for the new season.
Chief Kombe handed the balls to the acting Secretary General, Ndoumbe Bebe, Team Manager, Barrister Fabrice Mballa and also “now” club Adviser, Mr Nji who is former President of the club.
Reacting upon receiving the gifts, Barrister Mballa had this to say;
“we want to say a big thank you to Chief for this gesture. We hope this is the start of a long and fruitful journey with us. We are sincerely grateful. This is a call for us to do more and ensure our players perform, so they give you the joy in return for making this donations. We equally pledge to be accountable and transparent through this process.”
The Samba boys have been training for over two weeks under the guidance of deputy coach, Eric Asene while waiting for a new coach to be appointed.
It is worth noting that Tiko United is also without a President the on ground administration keeps working to ensure all the loopholes are filled.
Former President Nji, paid a visit to the team during the same Thursday’s training and in his new role as adviser to the board. He offered a token as support for payment of training bonuses to the players.
Mr Nji officially announced his resignation from post of President last Saturday February 19, after over two years in charge but sticks around the Club as adviser.
Meanwhile the Secretary General has been given power for Interim President while waiting for the elective general assembly after the approval of the Divisional Officer.
The Samba boys train daily in the morning and evening and recruitments is still ongoing for players who are keen on contributing to the glory of the club for the upcoming season.
Tiko United will participate in the South West regional championship,the Cameroon cup and are also open to participate in other competitions in the country to enhance the achievements of its objectives for the upcoming season.
Cameroon’s football Calendar for this year has been released and the Regional Leagues begin on March 27,2022.
