Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon forward Henriette Michel Akaba Edoa was one of three scorers this Wednesday as her Belarusian side FK Minsk punished Rigas FK in their opening Women’s UEFA Champions League game of the 2020-2021 season.
Akaba rounded off the scoring in a rampant evening for the 2019 Belarusian Champions.
The host quickfire start to the game enabled them to take the lead barely 18 minutes after kick off, thanks to 21-year-old Belarusian defender Ksenia Kubichnaya.
Minsk protected their lead till the end of the first segment.
13 minutes after the interval, Lyubov
Shmatko perfectly dispatched a spot-kick to make it two-nil.
Akaba concluded a perfect afternoon with a third in the 80th minute of the game.
She was replaced shortly after the goal ceding her place to Viktoria Belmach with four minutes left.
The game ended on a three-nil score in favor of FK Minsk.
Akaba’s international colleague, Alvine Njolle played the entire game.
Up next for Minsk and the Cameroon duo is a domestic championship fixture against ABFF U19 this Sunday.
