Former Cotonsport of Garoua goalkeeper Henri Valentin Mbaynasem has passed unto eternity following after a long illness.

The former goalkeeper coach at Etoile Filante of Garoua, Cotonsport of Garoua, Union Sportive of Douala and Feutcheu FC of Djiko amongst died at the regional hospital in Garoua,aged 55.

Mentor to many young goalkeepers in the country including his son Jourdan Mbaynasem, currently of Astres of Douala.

Late Valentin played for Djalingo FC, Elect Sport,spent three years at Panthere of Nde where he won the cup before switching to Cotonsport in 1991 and later to Africa Sport of Abidjan for two years from 1994.

His death has left the football family in Cameroon very in total sadness.

He leaves behind seven children and a host of family members to mourn him.

His son Jourdan Mbaynasem of Astres of Douala one time his trainee at Cotonsport of Garoua and former New Stars goalkeeper watched his mates train on Thursday after observing a minute of silence for his father.

Funeral program

The president of his former club, Cotonsport of Garoua sent words of condolence to the bereaved family through their social media platforms on Thursday.

The Cameroon football family is still in shock and tears because of the death.
