In preparation for the 2022 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship, Heartland Queens players, coaches, and management did a mini unveiling of their new home and away jerseys on Friday, at the main bowl of Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, Imo State.
The team is preparing to compete in the second-tier NWFL Championship later this year as they seek to return to the top flight NWFL Premiership.
In the 2021 NWFL Championship season, Heartland Queens fall short of the promotion ticket, finishing in the third position on the league table with five (5) points from four (4) games.
The team played out a 1-1 draw with Kwara Ladies, lost 2-0 to Naija Ratels FC, defeated Gallant Queens 2-0, and settled for a 0-0 with Adamawa Queens.
Naija Ratels with 10 points and Adamawa Queens with 8 points eventually picked the two (2) promotion tickets.
Heartland Queens will play the likes of DreamStars FC Ladies, Ibom Angels, Dannaz Ladies, Oasis Ladies, Royaltoms International, Moje Queens, Crystal Stars, Honey Badgers, Beautiful Tours Angels, and 9ineteen Damsels FC in the 2022 NWFL Championship.
