An image from the Intermediate Lions’ victory against Zimbabwe showed a goalkeeper at the top of his game at the highest level. The aerobatic save from Haschou Kerrido showed signs of display by the top level goalkeepers in the world like Ederson of Manchester City and Manuel Neuer, who are regarded as the best goalkeepers in the world.
Speaking to FECAFOOT TV the shot stopper has assured that he will continue to work to keep the goal post safe for Cameroon. To him, for the performance yesterday, the victory can be put down to the group while adding that they will continue to work and ensure that they get the victory.
His display for the intermediate lions of Cameroon saw the team beat the Warriors of Zimbabwe 1-0 in the opening match of the Africa Nations Championship. A display that was crowned by a clean sheet for the goalkeeper.
Kerrido has reached dizzying heights for his club PWD Bamenda, a club that won its first Elite 1 title in their history and now for the intermediate Lions of Cameroon. His beautiful display against Zimbabwe has seen him got plaudits from football lovers and journalists in the country.
The PWD goalkeeper was very calm and collected in the back post, something which will make his defenders feel confident in him at the sticks. The 26-year-old could be seen coming out of his goal post to catch the ball in the air.
He was also one to quickly get the intermediate lions on the offensive after releasing the ball quickly to his strikers like Jacques Zoua. He was not shy to come out of his box when needed.
Kerrido’s display was seen during PWD’s participation in the preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League. His performances saw though his team was eliminated from the competition saw him being name in the CHAN squad.
Haschou Kerrido will be called upon again to be on fine form when the intermediate Lions next take to the pitch. On January 20, the Intermediate Lions will have a top of the table clash against Mali with both teams on 3 points and identical goal scored.
