Three Lions of England Captain, Harry Kane has taken a huge step in putting a smile on his former club as he takes the sponsorship of their front shirt for the 2020/2021 season.
His former club, Leyton Orient announced on Thursday that a deal has been reached with the player with approval given from the Premier League, FA and EFL.
It’s first of it’s kind and the player intend to use this to support the club that gave him his first professional start and reach out to as many as possible at this times of the novel corona virus pandemic.
”I was born and brought up only at a couple of miles from the stadium and I am really happy to have the opportunity to give back to the club that gave me my first professional start,” said Harry Kane on the sponsorship.
“This also gives me a platform to be able to say a big thank you to the many frontline heroes and charities out there who provide care and support during these challenging times.” Kane said.
The shirt sponsorship will be donated in three ways; the home shirt sponsorship will be to say a thank message to front line workers, away shirt for Haven House Children’s Hospice and the third for Mind, the mental health charity.
The chairman of Leyton Orient expressed his gratitude to the player who has helped to salvage the situation they were trying to solve.
”Thank you, Harry, for your amazing support and generosity – you are a true role model for the modern game.” said Danny Macklin.
