For the third and certainly the last time in his stay at Ajax Amsterdam, 22-year-old Chelsea-bound Moroccan creative midfielder Hakim Ziyech has been named the Ajax player of the year for the third season running.
The club picked the former FC Twente winger for the Award for the third time in four years following another brilliant campaign in which he scored six goals and made 12 assists in 21 league appearances.
The wing-wizard joined Ajax in 2016 from FC Twente and made 111 league appearances, scoring 38 goals for the Dutch and European giants but leaves this summer to Chelsea as he has signed a five-year-deal for whopping €40million.
He will become a Chelsea player officially on the 1st of July 2020.
24 hours earlier fans of the club and some of Ziyech’s colleagues had taken to social media to bid farewell to their legend.
The former Netherlands youth international who opted for Morocco at senior level has scored 12 goals in 32 games for the Atlas Lions of Morocco.
