French Ligue Un side Dijon have listed Canal+ Pundit Habib Beye as one of the candidates for their Sporting Director role, kick442.com can report.
Footmercato is reporting that the former Senegalese international could be named as replacement for Sébastien Larcier in the days ahead.
Les Rouges have struggled to fill the void created by the departure of Larcier since he left the club for SCO Angers in July 2019.
Habib Beye which we understand still has a three-year-deal with French television Canal+ has a huge knowledge about French football having played for two of the biggest clubs in the land PSG and Marseille.
His experience even with clubs abroad like English Premier League outfits Aston Villa and New Castle United makes him a strong candidate for the job.
Should the parties reach a deal, it will be Habib’s first big job at a club since he retired from football in 2012.
The man who represented multiple clubs in enjoyed a successful football career which lasted 15 years in France and England.
The Serense native represented France at youth international level but switched to Senegal at senior international level. He won 35 caps for the Teranga Lions.
Habib is up against retired DR Congo footballer Herita llunga.
The 38-year-old Congolese is quite experienced with a knowledge of gathered while playing for clubs like Creteil,Rennes, Saint-Etienne, West Ham United, Doncaster Rovers amongst others.
He also made over 30 appearances for his country.
Dijon finished 16th and above the relegation zone in the just-ended French Ligue 1 campaign.
