H.O Academy to offer second Covid-19 support fund of 50000 FCFA each to 30 footballers
Southwest, Amateur side HO Academy, has released a list of 30 of its players expected at the Club’s headquarters in Douala on June 20.
Kick442.com understands that the players have been invited to the Club’s office, so, they can be handed the second tranche of their regular support in this Covid-19 times.
This Sports News Agency has gathered that, each player will be handed the sum of 50000 FCFA, alongside other anti-Covid-19 kits on the day of the event.
It is second formal group payments to be made by the Club’s CEO Hilaire Owona.
Last month, the businessman handed 25000 FCFA each to the entire squad of players at the club for the just-ended season.
This portal understands, the CEO has opted to continue the gesture only for the players retained, based on performance in the just-ended season.
Created in 2019, HO Academy bullied pass opponents in the Fako Divisional Championship to earn promotion into the Southwest Regional Championship after just a season.
The Club is considered as one of the most vibrant in the Southwest Regional Championship as at the 2019-2020 season.
Ange Essama and his mates are one of nine Clubs from Buea that competed in 2019 Regional Championship which was abandoned prematurely in March following the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The boys of coach Serge Patrice were supposed to represent the Southwest Region in the round of 32 of the 2020 Cup of Cameroon.
Unfortunately, the competition seems unlikely to take place.
This gesture towards the players is not a popular one for most Clubs in Cameroon, let alone an amateur outfit in the Central African nation.
