The Guinness Women’s Super League has been programmed to resume on March 6, 2021, as per a communiqué signed by the Secretary-General of the Cameroon Female Football Federation, Pauline Manguelle.
The resumption of female football comes after the conclusion of the Africa Nations Championship, as the competition was halted for the CHAN.
According to the Secretary-General, the list of clubs to take part in the Division Two football championship will be communicated on February 16.
Before football was halter in the country due to the Africa Nations Championship, the Guinness Women’s Super League was already on matchday six. On December 19, 2020, defending champions Louves Minproff defeated Vision Sports FC 4-1. Meantime, league leaders Amazones FAP won Eding Filles away from home 4-0.
In the other results of matchday six, Canon Filles defeated AS Awa FC 2-0. Éclair FC of SA’A won Ebolowa FC 2-0, while Renaissance Women of Guider picked up their first victory of the season defeating AS Diamare 3-0. It was a zero-all tie between Renaissance Athletic Figuil and Caiman of Douala.
On the unofficial classification after matchday 6, Amazones FAP leads with 18 points, followed by defending champions Louves Minproff with 16 points on the second position.
The third position is occupied by AS Awa FC with 14 points. Éclair FC is 4th with 13 points. Caiman Douala is fifth with 10 points while Vision Sports Bamenda is sixth with 8 points.
In the relegation zone, Renaissance Athletic is tenth with 4 points and its sister club Renaissance Women is eleventh with 3 points. Bottom of the table is AS Diamare with 0 points. The team has been defeated in all of their games played thus far.
It should be noted that the launch of the Women’s Ligue 2 football championship will be done on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.
