Melanie Zeutsop’s brace have helped Lekie Football Ladies in their 2-1 victory against Eding Football Ladies, in the day five clash of the Guinness Super League on Monday at the Omnisport Annex One field. Eding’s two goals was scored by Zeutsop, meanwhile Kibinde scored Lekie’s lone goal.
The day five games of the Guinness Super League at the Omnisport Annex One Stadium pitting Eding Ladies against Lekie Ladies opened with a 6th minute goal from Kibinde via a beautiful assist from Chadian-born Mahamat Kani. Mahamat Kani suceeded in beating two of Lekie’s defenders in a fast dribbling style, but Lekie’s goalkeeper Onomo Ornelle grabbed the ball in all serenity.
Lekie’s forward Melanie Zeutsop took advantage of goalkeeper Onomo’s poor outing, to strike the ball at the back of Eding’s net at the 36 minutes, so as to dismiss the Eding edge.Thirsty for a doubler, Zeutsop’s distant shot was deviated by Brice Zanga, so as to free her side from danger.
Lekie succeeded in dominating play at the midfield through the nice ball combination passes between Kamayi, Mague and Dibango.44 minutes to the end of the first half, came a diagonal cross that fell on Mahamat’s right leg but the ball was placed off the cage of goalkeeper Onomo Ornelle of Lekie.
The second half resume in favour of the girls of coach Benoit Otele of Lekie Ladies through a 47th minutes goal scoring chance from Zeutsop, who’s ball was sent at the upfront for play to proceed by Eding’s defender Atoke. The encounter became more electrifying at the 54th minutes when Cynthia Elong received a long ball from Ewoudou and attempted a lope on Lekie’s keeper Onomo.
Brice Zanga’s two well executed free kicks at the 60 and 65th minutes were well captured by Onomo . However, coach Oudou Kpoumie of Eding changed his play style and became more offensive on the wings as Tchomte and Mahamat in their athletic and impressive ball crosses turn to be a challenge for the Lekie defenders.
Zeutsop at the 89th minutes scored a beautiful goal for Lekie through an assist from Ngueyop Angela to raised scores to 2-1 as the centre referee blasted the final whistle.
Lekie have now move a step award on the 12 teams Guinness Super League classification table with 7 points.Meanwhile Eding remains on 6 points.
