Brenda Tabe’s 69 minutes struck helped Awa FF to grab a 3-2 victory against Louves MINPROFF in day one of the Guinness Super league game that took place this afternoon at the Ngoa Ekelle Military Stadium
The spectacular fixture pitting Awa FF against Louves MINPROFF officially kicked off under the watchful eyes of the President of the Cameroon Football Federation, Roving Ambassador Roger Milla and some members of the Indomitable lions technical staff.
Awa FF took the lead on Louves at the upfront through the beautiful long ball cross from Jeanne Magoumkoua in the first 8 minutes of the game.
Louves produced her first goal attempt at the 17 minutes, in a 15 metres shot from Raissa Adama that went off the cage of goalkeeper Marthe Ongmahan. Awa’s attacker Kevin Ossol failed to beat keeper Yombock Blonde in a face to face for an opener at the 24 minutes,with her ball well captured by the keeper.
Genevieve Owona opened scores for Awa FF at the 38 minutes through a well executed penalty kick, following a pushing fault on Machia Farida at the 37 minutes by goalkeeper Blonde Yombock.43 minutes later was a doubler for Awa through the prowess of Kevin Ossol in a 15 metres stunning shot.
The girls of coach Bernadette Anong of Louves created a good number of scoring chances in the last minutes of the first half via a beautiful ball combination between Raissa Adama and Joelle Aboula which all ended in furtile as the Awa defenders played with much calmness and serenity.
Awa FF resume play for the second half with more purpose by creating two beautiful goal attempts from Georgette Ngo Boum at the 48 minutes but the Louves defenders proved to be impermeable. Louves goal opener came up at the 55 minutes from a close struck by Danye Mimbang, following a poor defensive play by the Awa defenders.
Louves in her quest for more goals, continued their pressing on the girls of coach Abdoul Salam of Awa at the midfield, depriving them from gaining possession of the ball. Danye almost brought both sides on a parity score, in beautiful shot that was deflected by captain Genevieve Owona at the 60 minutes, so as to safe her side from danger.
Brenda Tabe at the 69 minutes succeeded in an impeccable dribbling style, to pass three of Louves defenders for a struck that left goalkeeper Yombock at akimbo to watch the ball reach the left side of her net.
But Louves’ Adrienne Tchinda in a 10 metres strike at the 70 minutes place the ball at the back of the net of goalkeeper Ongmahan to bring both sides on a 3-2 score in favour of Awa. At the end of the encounter Awa’s Goergette Ngo emerged Woman of the match backing home a cash prize of 50.000CFAF.
