Awa Ladies of Yaounde are set to lose their all-time top scorer in the next few days as the prolific scorer finalizes terms with a new club.
kick442.com understands rivals Lekie who have already captured full-back Mogai Mogai Cecilia are in advanced negotiation to secure the return of Brenda to the club of her early days.
Brenda who has close 50 goals in three seasons at Awa could sign a two-year deal with Lekie Ladies in the days ahead, thus sealing a return.
Brenda left Lekie in 2018 to join Awa after a prolific season which saw her emerge as top scorer in the second tier championship with 27 goals from 13 games.
Her heroics with Lekie earned her a move to Awa who were a division higher.
The 2022 Women’s military games top scorer has once admitted a return to Lekie could happen someday. It appears it is happening this window.
During her three years under coach Hassan Balla, Brenda finished as the club’s lead scorer in two seasons, won two Guinness Super League titles, a cup of Cameroon trophy and recently reached final of the zonal qualifiers of the Women’s CAF Champions League.
The 18-year-old lethal finisher who began her career at Dream Soccer Academy in Mamfe has played for Cameroon’s Under-17, Under-20, Military and recently earned a call up to the senior team, thus making her a potential great signing for Lekie.
Terms have been agreed while work on administrative formalities go on and Brenda’s imminent departure Awa at a time last season’s top scorer Lamine Mana is also on her way out creates a huge void for the defending champions.
Awa is expected to experience more exodus and the arrival of new faces before the Caneroon transfer window shuts on October 24.
The 2022/23 Guinness Super League season will kickoff on January 7.
