The Secretary General of the Cameroon women’s league, has made public the list of six stadia to host games for the Guinness super league for the 2022 football season.
12 teams will participate in the championship, as they battle for who succeeds AS AWA FF as champions. According to a recent document made public by the secretary General of the Cameroon women’s league Therese Pauline Manguele, just six playgrounds will host games this season.
These six playgrounds are located across some five cities in the country, precisely Yaoundé, Douala, Guider, Bamenda, and Ebolowa.
Yaounde has seven of the 12 Guinness super league clubs, and two stadia have been allocated in Yaoundé. The Yaounde Ngoa Ekelle stadium and the Annex 1 of the Yaounde Omnisports stadium, will serve as home ground for the seven super league clubs in that town.
The two teams from Douala, that’s Caiman filles and Authentic ladies, will host their games at the Annex of the Bepanda stadium.
Renaissance of Guider will use the MTN municipal in Guider as home ground, while Ebolowa FC will play their home games at the Municipal Stadium in Nko’o Vos.
Vision Sports of Bamenda, the lone women top tier team from the North West region, will use the Yong Sport Academy Stadium in mile six Nkwen as their home ground.
Amongst the six playgrounds made available to host the Guinness super league games, just three (Ngoa Ekelle stadium, Annex 1 of Omnisports and the Annex of the Bepanda stadium), can boast of a good playing surface.
The three other cities with teams plying their trade in the Cameroon women’s top tier, Bamenda, Ebolowa and Guider, happens not to have ultramodern football infrastructure.
The 2022 Guinness super league season will kickoff on Saturday 16 April, with the opening game to pit AS AWA FF against Louves Minproff.
