Confidence Bongben’s brace at the 34 and 37 minutes was of great importance as FAP Amazone FC took a narrow 2-1 edge on Lekie Football Ladies, in the second day two games of the Guinness Super League on Wednesday at the Omnisport Annex One Stadium. The Lekie lone goal was a realization of Angela Megueyep.
The highly animated clash involving Lekie Football ladies against FAP Amazone FC debuted with an early goal at the second minute from Angela Megueyep in a 10 metres strike that beat FAP’s keeper Ngo Ndom. A respond to the early Lekie goal was a beautiful ball combination between Doudou and Tchadeu at the 8 minutes that was poorly exploited.
FAP showed a great mastery of the game through an impeccable display on the wings and at the attacking line but the numerous goal scoring attempts from Ndjoah were well defended by coach Otele Romeo’s defenders.
FAP in a successful brace from Bongben Confidence at the 34 and 37 minutes helped her side to take a 2-1 lead over Lekie Ladies as play unfolded.Leslie Ndjoah threatened the Lekie defensive line on several occasions for a third goal towards the last minutes to the end of the first half.
The girls of coach Ndoumou Mike of FAP came back for the second half more motivated and confident, through a cute goal scoring chance from Tchadeu at the 47th minutes that was well deviated by Lekie’s keeper Geolette Kana. Diane Massende at the 60 minutes failed to score Lekie’s equalizer following a nice ball play that was well captured by Ngo Ndom.
The encounter drew to its end with the FAP Amazone FC side playing a more defensive game, in a bid to deprive the Lekie ladies for a leveller. They benefitted from five shots on target as oppose to three from the Lekie club who left the pitch in agony.
