Guinness Super League leaders and defending champions AS AWA FC, has suffered their first defeat of the season.
Coach Hassan Balla and his girls were beaten one_nil by Amazone FAP, in one of day 10 games played on Saturday at the Annex one stadium of the Yaounde Omnisports stadium.
AWA came into the game as league leaders, on a run of Nine consecutive wins this season, with Amazone FAP second on the league’s rankings.
A tough first half saw both teams returning to the dressing room tight zero all at pause.
The lone goal of the game came at the 67 minute through Guylaine Tchadeu. AWA FC tried to comeback to the score sheet but Annette Ngo Ndom and her teammates stayed solid, to impose a first defeat on AWA FC, putting an end to their nine games winning streak.

The defeat also ended AWA’s run of 31 games unbeaten, which dates back to last season when they went unbeaten in their way to winning the league.
“Our objective was to win all our games, but we accept our defeat today. We’re going to keep our heads up and focus on the up coming games,” AWA’s midfielder Tantoh Melvis said after the game.
Despite the defeat, AS AWA FC stays top of the league’s table with 27 points. The team has scored 33 goals this season, and conceded just four.

Amazone FAP moves up to 23 points on the second position.
In the other day 10 games, Authentic FC defeated Vision Sports 4#0.
Canon FF defeated Renaissance Athletic 3#0.
