24-players have been selected by Coach Baciro Cande ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations. 12 out of the 24 players that have been selected currently ply their trade in Portugal-based clubs.
Cande is looking to lead the west African nation past the group stage for the first time and will rely on goalkeeper Jonas Mendes and forwards Piqueti and Fredric Mendy who will be featuring for the Djurtus at a third successive Nations Cup.
Guinea-Bissau begins their first game against Sudan on January 11 before taking on Egypt on January 15. The last group game for the side comes up on January 19 against Nigeria, with all the games being played at the Roumede Adjia Stadium in Garoua.
