The head coach of the Sily national selection of Guinea has accepted faith’s offer of a point from their Saturday’s group D fixture of the 2020 African Nations Championship in Limbe.
Guinea sacrificed a one-nil advantage handed them by Victor Kantabadouna in the 58th minute to back a point in an exciting fixture not short of chances.
Speaking to the media after the game, coach Mohamed Kanfory Bangoura touched on some key aspects about his team on the day.
“I put the line up and places Sylla based on the opponent formation. That’s why I took a kind of disposition to counter Zambians tactics. “The objective was to ensure that we have possession. The Zambian gave us a lot of problems. After the first goal, we tried to score the second one before the equaliser,” the gaffer revealed.
In all honesty, Guinea brought a different approach to the game from the approach through which they inflicted a three-nil bashing on Namibia in their opening fixture.
This time around coach Bangoura’s team were more cautious in their offensive moves and this was reflected in their selection of players. Unfortunately the gaffer wasn’t pleased with the input from some of his players.
“There is no problem as far as selection is concerned. Maybe some players didn’t put in their best”.
Though that happened the trainer says he is satisfied with the result and hopes to quick-fix going forward.
“I am not disappointed with the result. It’s my assignment to ensure that our mistakes of this game doesn’t occur in our next games. We shall out up a very good performance in our final game,” Coach Bangoura continued.
Leaders Guinea takes on third-seeded Tanzania in an all-important group D fixture on Wednesday with the winners expected to make the quarter-final of the tournament though a draw will be a good result for Sily national while a win is imperative for the Taifa Stars.
