The Head Coach of Elmina Sharks FC Nii Ordatey Lamptey has given out his reasons for resigning from his role as the Head Coach of the side.
Nii Ordatey Lamptey on Monday November 29, 2021 handed his resignation letter to the management of the Club after their 3:1 defeat to Takyiman Eleven Wonders.
Former Ghanaian International Ordatey was appointed by Elmina Sharks as a step gab coach after the exit of their their technical staff Yaw Acheampong and Felix Aboagye.
In an interview on Ahomka FM in Elmina, Ordatey stated that his reasons for resigning includes the attitude of the management, some players and even the fans.
“For all of us to be happy, I took that decision”
“I was appointed to step in after the previous coaches left so that at the end of the season, new coaches would be appointed. I did my part to save the team and I was waiting for new coaches to be appointed but nothing has happened.”
“Beside that, some of the old players felt that they were not getting playing time so they planned to sabotage my work.”
“I think I have to take the decision early so that the team can plan ahead.”
“My letter was even ready before the Bibiani Gold Stars game but I was spoken to by some individuals.”
“I am an upcoming coach and I think I have to save my future.”
“I am very grateful to all those that helped me especially during when we were fighting to escape relegation.”Ordatey said
“Elmina Sharks is currently at the 16th position on the league log with 4 points after five games.
