Three (3) matches were on display on Friday, September 13, 2019 at Gov. Okowa Pre Season Tournament. There was victories for Abia Warriors and Cynosure FC while Rivers United and Niger Tornadoes settled for a barren draw.

Abia Warriors 1-0 Delta Force
Abia Warriors of Umuahia recorded their first win in the ongoing Gov.Okowa tournament in Asaba, Delta state.
Abia Warriors prior to the game lost their first match with Rivers United while the host team (Delta force) piped Mountain of Fire Miracles (MFM) by a lone goal.
Abia Warriors in the must win match took the fight to the opponents half at the blast of the kick off whistle in search of a curtain raiser all to no avail as Delta force defenders curtailed all their threat.
Delta force grew into the game as they stamped their authority in the middle of the park and Mounted series of pressures but the warriors defence and goalkeeper ensured a draw heading to the locker room.
Both teams returned from the tunnel and it was Delta Force striker who had the first clear cut chance but was denied by the brilliant goalkeeping artistry of Tambe Charles pulling a worldclass save to deny them the lead.
Abia Warriors Striker Amos Ogbuagu handed the Umuahia landlords the much sorted lead in the 51min with a beautiful solo run as he raced from his half before releasing an inswinger which ended in the back of Ani Henry’s net.
Delta Force efforts to equalized could not materialized until the end of proceedings.

Cynosure FC 1-0 Kwara United
Kwara United came into this game after playing a barren draw (0-0) against Remo Stars Sports Club in their opening match of the competition on Wednesday but surrendered to Onyeka Okoro 6th minutes goal without reply as Cynosure held on to the victory. All efforts and pressures from Kwara United aimed at securing an equalising goal proved abortive as Cynosure FC came out victorious.
