Sources have told that current Kenyan Champions and New Stars opponents on Sunday in the 2nd leg of the last playoffs for a place in the group stage of the CAF Confederation cup will be in Cameroon by Friday Evening.

Gor Mahia leaves Kenya in the early hours of Friday to touch down at the Douala international airport before moving straight to their base in Limbe where they will confront host New Stars of Douala this Sunday.

New Stars go into Sunday’s game at the Ngeme Stadium needing to score at least once without be conceding to stay in the competition after Gor Mahia beat them 2-1 a week earlier in Nairobi.

Both clubs will be without two key players, all suspended.

The CAF disciplinary committee has taken a decision to hand a two games suspension to the captain of Kenyan side, Gor Mahia,Haron Shakava,26 and his 25 year old team-mate,Joash Achieng Onyango for provoking a pitch invasion in a CAF Champions league game in Enugu earlier in the season.

Thesuspension of these key defensive men makes them unavailable for coach, Hassan Oktay while his New Stars colleague,Gerard Mbimbi will be without Goalkeeper, Kibyen Patrick and Defender Orian Jores, all suspended due to accumulated bookings.

New Stars welcome Medjo Aristide into the squad ahead of the “big money” game.

Gor Mahia is still to win away from home on regular time in a CAF game this season while New Stars is still to win at home.

Gor Mahia recorded their first ever win over a Cameroonian club last weekend in Nairobi and will be looking forward to get their first win over a Cameroonian club in Cameroon this year while New Stars seek to be the first Cameroon club apart from Cotonsport to enter the group stage of a CAF club competition in over 5 years.
