New Stars of Douala has agreed a deal one-year deal to sign Bakinde
Bilong Gerard.

The 26 year old midfielder joins the Littoral outfit as a free agent. He lastly played for Progresso de Luanda in the 2018/2019 Season.

The player was presented to the media at the club’s secretariat in Douala.

Bakinde Began his football career at the famous Brasseries Football Academy, he has represented APEJES of Mfou in the second tier Championship in Cameroon and, featured for Union Sportive of Douala, UMS of Loum and most prominently Unisport of Haut Nkam.

He has been captain of Unisport of Bafang and won the 2012 cup of Cameroon with the club and represented the club in the CAF Confederation Cup.

He has previously represented the local national selection of Cameroon.

New Stars have been very active in the last few weeks bringing on board some very experienced players with many questioning the current status of the club giving that they ended the league one championship in the last relegation zone.

New Stars Sporting Director Njoya has hinted on multiple occasions especially on social media that there is a legal battle which could end with the club as a topflight club.

President Faustin Domkeu and his recruitment team have done a good number indicating that they will want to line up a strong team in the new season expected to begin this October.
