Former Montpellier left-back Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo is a subject of transfer interest from Turkish side Gaziantep FK.
According to CFoot.com, the Turkish top-flight club are interested in signing the experienced Cameroon star as they look to find a good option in that part of their defense.
The 30_year_old left back Joined the club in January 2018, from Canadian side CF Montréal, and made over 60 appearances for the club before going out on loan to FC Krasnodar.
He returned Montpellier this season after a lengthy spell our through injury. The former cotonsport man played 13 games in the just ended French ligue 1 campaign, scoring one goal, as Montpellier finished the season on the 13 position, with 43 points.
The versatile defender, capable of playing as a left-back, left-midfielder and even as a left-winger on the odd occassion could be a good catch for his Turkish suitors.
A solid option?
Signing Oyongo seems to make a lot of sense to Gaziantep as they would be signing a player who could offer cover in a variety of positions.
If the Cameroonian indeed moves to Turkey, he will join other Cameroonians and has such versatility that offers coach Erol Bulut a great cushion going into next season and it remains to be seen as to how the Turkish tactician uses him if he is recruited.
Oyongo, winner of AFCON 2017 and silver medalist in 2021 can also offer his international experience of over ten years, 51 caps and two goals for Cameroon at any club he joins.
