Cameroon international forward Ignatius Ganago has returned to scoring ways in the colors of RC Lens.
He helped 1998 French Champions Lens, to pick up three points following a two-nil away win against Stade Rennes in match-day 12 of the French Ligue 1 championship.
Cameroon-eligible duo Nyamsi Gerzino and James Lea started for the host while Ganago started on the bench for the visitors.
Arnaud Kalimuendo gave the visitors the lead in the 28th minute of the game off an assist from Gael Kakuta.
The 21-year-old forward who joined Lens last summer from OGC Nice scored his fifth goal of the season coming off the bench.
It was his fifth goal plus two assist in nine league games this season in the championship.
The game stayed on the one-nil score till the half-time break but Ganago joined the boys of coach Franck Haise in the 72nd minute and scored six minutes later.
The Brasserie Football Academy youth product has already better his personal best in a French League last season and keeps improving on that.
His most prolific season, before this, in the French top flight was the 2019-2020 season in which he scored three goals in 26 league games.
Gerzino was replaced by Eduardo Camavinga in the 46th minute while Lea Siliki came off in the 70th minute.
Lens are temporarily seventh on the log with 21 points ahead of their next game at home to Montpelier of Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo.
