French Ligue 1 side SCO Angers are considering a move for 23-year old Cameroonian forward Ignatius Kpene Ganago.
According to Griffe-2-Foot Angers have the Cameroon international as part of options to fill voids to be created by departing players this summer, one of which is Ganago’s international colleague Stephane Bahoken.
Ganago scored four goals in 27 Ligue 1 games for Lens in the ongoing season but could be on his way out if Angers trigger his release clause.
Ganago, a product of the Brasserie Football Academy joined Lens in 2020 on a four-year deal worth €6 Million but could leave for less than that as just two years are left in his present contract.
In all, Ganago has scored 12 goals in 52 appearances for RC Lens which is an improvement from the seven goals scored in 62 games at OGC Nice before departing in 2020.
Angers are certainly targeting a younger striker who is more promising going into the busy transfer window.
Ganago is no stranger to the Ligue 1 or French Football as he has already made 103 appearances in the French top-flight championship.
The Cameroon international with nine caps to his name was linked to a transfer to Newcastle United in January 2022 but nothing came off it.
As at no contact is yet to be established and no offer made to cause a deal.
