Lille’s gaffer has told the media on Friday that he is planning life without in-demand Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.
Caught between keeping Osimhen for his goals and letting him go for a whopping sum of €80 Million, Lille officials are between the rock, and a hard place.
Coach Galtier has decided not to be in the fence, for him it is time to prepare Osimhen’s successor.
“Our players are attracting interest from elsewhere. Victor and Gabriel, for example, we are working on the players focused here and those likely to replace them. Obviously we are looking at players who will join us in their positions,” the coach revealed during Friday’s new conference.
Osimhen has been on the wishlists of some top European clubs, after impressing in his maiden season in the French top flight.
The 21-year-old former Wolfsburg striker joined Lille last summer from Belgium outfit Charleroi, and became an instant hit at the Stade Pierre Mauroy.
He scored 18 goals, and providing 6 assists in 38 games across all competitions for coach Christophe Galtier’s team.
Many top clubs in England, Italy and Spain are interested in the Nigerian’s services.
