Cameroonian and La Solana ladies forward Gabrielle Leonie Ngaska scored the lone goal on Sunday evening to help her side record a one-nil victory which amounted to their promotion to the Spanish Women’s second tier Championship.
The girls of coach David Peinado faced Unión Viera on Sunday evening knowing their entire season was dependent on the game.
The Canarians were gritty throughout the first segment preventing Ngaska and mates from enjoying their usual attacking football.
It took 68 minutes for the Cameroonian former Athletico Madrid forward to put Solana in front with a right-footed shot from inside the penalty box concluding a well worked counter attacking action.
The goal gave new energy to the the entire Solana team and they defended properly for the remaining 22 minutes, preventing all incursions from the Unión Viera attacking force.
The game stayed at one-nil till full time.
The result meant La Solana – a town with just 15000 inhabitants will be represented in the semi-professional Women’s second tier Championship in Spain in the upcoming season thanks to a strike from the Yaoundé-native.
Ngaska has had a wonderful season at the Club, scoring 15 goals
She was recently rewarded with a new contract.
