From week one (1) to four (4), it was a keenly contents battle for Super 4 spots during 2018-2019 Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL), we continue from Match Week Five (5) to see how the regular season was concluded to ascertain the clubs that secure Super 4 spots and relegation Playoff spots.

Week five (5) of Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) was up and running on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at various match centres with interesting results.
Abia Angels secured a slim 0-1 away win over Invincible Angels at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, Benue state.
At the Legacy Pitch of National Stadium, Lagos, host FC Robo were held at home by visiting Rivers Angels. Folashade Ijamilusi gave the host a 20th lead before Blessing Okpe equalised for the visitors.
Similarly, Bayelsa Queens also held host Kaduna Queens to another 1-1 draw. Onah Oluchi 21st minute goal was cancelled by Ikeh Ginika 51st minute strike.
Ibom Angels were comfortably victorious by defeating Confluence Queens 2-0. Precious Edewor 31st minute strike gave the Akwa Ibom based side the lead before Uduakabong Peter 71st minute goal sealed the victory for the host.
Edo Queens in similar fashion were 2-0 triumphant over Dream Stars Female team of Lagos. Glory Osaghae 25th minute goal from the penalty spot gave the host the lead before Uyime Johnson late strike in the 87th minute made it 2-0.
Delta Queens also defeated Osun Babes 3-1 to condemn the Osogbo based visitors to the bottom of their group. Ghananian Patience Adjetey gave Delta Queens the lead in the 10th minute before Mary Ann Ezeanagu doubled their lead with a 45th minute goal. Winifred Eyebhoria pulled one goal back for Osun Babes in the 56th minute before Patience Adjetey completes her brace and sealed victory for Delta Queens in the 73rd minute.
Finally, Adamawa Queens were 1-0 better than host Heartland Queens at Pantanmi Stadium, Gombe.

In Group D, Confluence Queens defeated Invincible Angels 4-1. Goals from Omokwo Mercy (23′), Aweda Titilayo (44′) and brace (46′, 48′) from Yina Adoo gave the Kogi based side victory. Onuma Victory pulled one goal back for Invincible Angels. Ibom Angels losing 1-0 to Abia Angels confirmed Super 4 spot for Confluence Queens. Favour Emmanuel 41st minute goal seals victory for Abia Angels.
In Group B, Adamawa Queens played out a 1-1 away draw with Dream Stars Ladies in Lagos. This will be the first goal conceded by Adamawa Queens this season. Edo Queens losing 3-2 to Heartland Queens sealed Super 4 place for Adamawa Queens.
In other full time result FC Robo earned an away win in Osogbo as the Lagos based side triumphed 2-4 over Osun Babes. Kesiena Ojiyovwi brace couldn’t save the host from their fifth defeat in six (6) NWPL matches as Joy Omewa also missed a penalty kick for Osun Babes.
Bayelsa Queens FC of Yenagoa also joined Adamawa and Confluence Queens in sealing the Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) Super 4 ticket. The Yenegoa based side picked the sole ticket from group C of the Nigeria Women Football League after playing out a thrilling and entertaining two all draw with visiting Nasarawa Amazons at the Samson Siasia Stadium.
The result leave the Restoration Girls on eleven(11) points same as second place Sunshine Queens but have a plus five goal difference as against plus four for the Akure side.
The rain delayed match started on a fast pace with Bayelsa Queens scoring from a sublime strike off their talismanic winger Anjor Mary in the 17th minutes. The visitors had hardly recovered from that opener when Ginika Ikeh free kick was fumbled into the net by the Nasarawa Goalkeeper in the 26th minutes to double lead.
The Lafia based side quickly responded in the 36th minutes when Ugochi Emenayo headed in a corner kick to reduce the deficit. The comeback was completed when Deborah Abiodun’s 25 yards shot caught Bayelsa queens goalkeeper Rabi Ihieabi napping in the 43rd minutes.
The Host came out in the Second Half more determined to get the winning goal, but poor finishing was their undoing with Rafiat Sule the worst culprit.
Technical Adviser of Nasarawa Amazons, Christopher Danjuma stated that having lost the super four ticket before coming to Yenagoa, they were determined not to loss back to back game to Bayelsa Queens.
On his part, technical Adviser of Bayelsa Queens Moses Aduku was thankful for the super four ticket even though he felt his team did not play to expectation. But promise to work on the lapses before the super four.
Rivers Angels on the other hand defeated Delta Queens 1-0 via Evelyn Nwabuoku 63rd minute goal.
This completes all Week 6 Results as well as Super 4 places which will be another tournament to determine the league winner at a later date.

In the first group, Rivers Angels finished top with 13 points to secure Super 4 spot followed by FC Robo of Lagos with 11 points, Delta Queens with 8 points while Osun Babes finished last with 1 point and will battle it out with other three side for Relegation Playoffs.

In Group B, Adamawa Queens finished top to clinched Super 4 spot with 12 points followed by Edo Queens (10 points), Heartland Queens (7 points) and Dream Stars Ladies finished last in the group for Relegation Playoffs.

Group C
The third group was a photo finish as the top two clubs finished on same points and had to be separated by goal difference. Bayelsa Queens by virtue of superior goal difference finished top with 11 points ahead of Sunshine Queens of Akure that also finished with 11 points. Nasarawa Amazons finished third with 6 points ahead of Kaduna Queens with 4 points.
