Cameroon international Paul-George Ntep on loan from Wolfsburg to Kayserispor was handed his first start in more than a year against Antalyaspor – but, walked off at the 30th minute due to an injury in his team’s 2-2 parity all-tie with Antalyaspor on Saturday.
It wasn’t a good sight at all when the winger got helped off with what looked a bad injury at the 30th minute of the game.
Paul George Ntep sat it out for a full 90 minutes in his club’s defeat in the hands of Galatasaray on match day 3 of the Turkish Super Lig and got the nod against Antalyaspor.
Coach H. Karaman invested faith in the winger on Kayserispor’s travel to the New Antalya stadium but it did not come together as planned for the gaffer and the player.
The 27-year-old had a calamitous stay with Bundesliga first-tier side Wolfsburg last season as he was relegated to Wolfsburg II and could only still manage 3 appearances.
Kayserispor is yet to issue an official statement about the player’s injury.
Ntep now looks a shadow of the young teenage sensation who dazzled with Stade Rennais FC a couple of years back, having Cameroon and the French national teams chase after him.
