The Executive committee of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, FRMF has decided to grant financial support to match officials in the country.
The Executive committee of the football house took the decision on Thursday after a careful evaluation of the current situation of match officials.
A recent research carried out by the FRMF shows that 95% of the match officials in Morocco have had their main source of income paralyzed because football activities in Morocco have been bugged down since the outbreak of the CoronaVirus pandemic in the country.
The committee has decided that each referee in the first and second tier competition will referee will receive approximately $500 per month for the last three months from May 2020.
Therefore the officials will get an upfront amount of approximately $1500 [6000 Dirhams] in the days ahead.
This comes at time when many footballers on the continent have received support from their national federations with very little or no attention on the match officials.
The FRMF under president Faouzi Lekjaa is considered as an example for many in Africa.
