French Ligue 1 side RC Lens have their Cameroonian forward Ignatius Kpene Ganago to thank for reaching the round of 32 of the 2022 French cup.
The striker scored the lone goal as his club edged 10-man Stade Poitiven in an interesting cup game.
Third tier Stade made it a difficult task for themselves as they finished the game with a player less than RC Lens.
Lens who were favorite going into the game had their noses in front in the 36th minute, thanks to a goal from Ganago.
The equation became more complicated for the host in the 38th minute as midfielder César José Paul Neto was sent for an early bath.
Coach Franck Haise of Lens organized his boys to preserve the advantage to the end of the game.
It ended on a one-nil score in favour of the Ligue 1 club.
Lens are through to the 16th final of the cup. They will trek to Lille and in the next round of the cup matches penciled for January 2.
Ganago has scored four goals in 13 appearances in all competitions this season.
