Ethiopian giants St George of Addis Ababa have appointed 52-year old Scott Frank Nuttall as their lead trainer for the next two years.
The Club announced the decision later this week. He replaces German tactician Ernst Middendorp who left the Club earlier this year for undisclosed reasons.
The 14-times Ethiopian champions are currently ranked 3rd in the 13Clubs Ethiopian top-flight championship ahead of the continuation of the current season from match-day 16 next month.
The appointment of Nuttall adds to the number of foreign managers the Club has hired in recent times as the former Township Rollers gaffer looks to continue his 23-year old journey on the dugout.
The former Middleborough and West Bromwich Albion coach has served a number of African clubs including Kenyan giants Gor Mahia, Ghana’s Hearts of Oak and Egyptian giants Zamalek as either lead trainer or assistant.
The one-time Rangers FC and Al Nasr trainer will be hoping to help St George climb higher on the log beginning this Sunday when they face Sebata City.
St George needs a near miracle to catch Fasil Ketema who are 12 points atop the championship with eleven rounds of matches left.
