Cameroon international defensive midfielder Frank Thierry Boya plying his trade with the Belgian side Zulte Waregem on a short stay in Cameroon, visited his former club Apejes of Mfou on Wednesday, after their one all tie against Fauve Azur in match day 14th of the MTN Elite One Championship.
The former Bundesliga midfielder talked about the quality of the game and his presence in Cameroon.
“I was marvelled by the quality of the game from both sides, especially from Apejes. Despite their one all tie and the two red cards awarded to Apam and Yengi by the central referee”.
” I felt like going back on the field of play for Apejes, upon watching the players. I could rekindle my days as a young player for the Mfou side”.
“At the end of the game, I had a chat with the players in their dressing room, encouraging them to be mentally strong while on the pitch and to respect the referee’s decisions”.
Boya played for Apejes of Mfou during the 2016/17 season, and was transferred to the German Bundesliga 2 club Munich.
” I am glad being home and have come to thank all those who have been supporting me from far and near “.
” The season was quite a tough one for me coupled with my injuries, but I thank God for being in good health and for have ended it in a wonderful way”.
“Frank Boya has always been with the national team in spirit and will always be ready to defend the nation’s flag when need arises”.
In 2017,he joined Belgian club Mouscron in June 2020 and signed for Antwerp. On August 31,Boya moved on loan to Zulte Waregem. He made his international debut in 2016 was named in the squad for the 2017 Africa Nations Cup.
