As Kick442.com reported earlier Italian Serie A outfit AC Milan had made a call for all their players to return to Milan for a 14 days quarantine ahead resumption of training for a possible return of the Serie A season. But two players are missing from the call, Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie and Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The two players are absent for different reasons. Zlatan has Milan’s permission to stay back in Stockholm while awaiting the official announcements for when the league will resume, so that Milan can know exactly when effective training resumes. Meanwhile, he will be training with Swedish outfit Hammarby, a team in which he is a 25% shareholder.
For Franck Kessie, the 23-year-old has not been able to rejoin his teammates because he is finding it difficult to get a flight back to Italy, according to reports from Correire dello Sport.
The Lombardy outfit are currently working with the player for a possible solution to the problem and both the club and player are confident they will soon find a solution.
A native of Ouragahio just like Spurs defender Serge Aurier, Kessie came through the ranks of Stella Club of Adjamé and Atalanta and break into Atalanta’s first team in 2015. After a loan spell with Cesena in the 2015-2016 season. He was loaned out to Milan for two seasons. He made 71 league appearances and scored 12 goals before the move was made permanent in 2019.
This season, he has started 22 of the 25 games he has featured in across all competitions for Milan, with a goal in 23 Serie A appearances.
He has won 35 caps and scored a goal for the Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire.
