Barely days after Kick442.com reported the interest of French Ligue 1 outfit FC Metz in signing 23-year-old Cameroonian Midfielder Franck Boya, the interest seem to have died down reports from Belgium say the player is not interested in joining FC Metz as he prefers a move to a KAA Gent.
Boya joined Royal Mouscron in August 2017, from German second tier side 1860 München on a three-year-deal, which runs out this summer.
The 2017 AFCON winner has been a regular starter Mouscron in the last two seasons. He has made 30 appearances, from which he scored twice in the just-ended season.
He appeared in the Jupiler Pro team of the week on two occasions in the just-ended season.
One-time captain of APEJES of Mfou, the 2016 Cup of Cameroon winner has made a total of 67 appearances for Royal Mouscron from which he has scored five goals and assisted six others from for the club.
Antwerp and a host of other clubs are also monitoring the player’s situation at the Stade Le Canonnier.
The midfielder has not committed his future to the club, this makes him a free agent from July 1, 2020.
Boya has won two caps for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, and many are those who consider him one of the most efficient Cameroonians in his role currently in Europe.
