Super Falcons forward, Francisca Ordega has joined the Spanish Primera Iberdrola side, Levante UD.
Francisca, 27, who last played for
Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Women’s Super League will play for the Spanish side until 2023.
The Gboko born attacker has played for Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership before moving abroad to feature for Rossiyanka, Piteå IF, Washington Spirit, Sydney FC (on loan), and Atlético Madrid (on loan).
Ordega represented the Nigeria women’s national football team in all levels.
With the under 17 (Flamingos), she played the 2010 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and with the under 20 (Falconets) at 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
At the senior level, she played in the FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments of
2011, 2015, and 2019.
She was also part of Nigeria’s squads at the African Women’s Championship of 2010, 2014, and 2018, winning all tournaments with the Super Falcons.
She thus joined the likes of Asisat Oshoala (FC Barcelona), Rasheedat Ajibade (Atletico Madrid), Osinachi Ohale (Madrid CFF), Rita Chikwelu (Madrid CFF), Chidinma Okeke (Madrid CFF), Charity Adule (Eibar), and Toni Payne (Sevilla) in the Spanish Women’s top flight.
