Paris-Saint Germain Captain and France midfielder, Grace Geyoro has suffered a left knee injury picked up during training this Tuesday, June 21st and as such, risk participating in the international Friendly encounter against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon this weekend.
The midfield sensation left Tuesday’s training in tears after sustaining the injury that caused a premature end to her own training session. This comes barely two weeks to the start of the Euro 2022.
Grace who is arguably the most capped midfielder in France National team with over 49 appearances, is a instrumental player France and her absence if care not taken, May be a big blow to the team given that her presence and input contributes greatly to the team.
The severity of her injury is yet to be known as it may seem a bit serious after she was assisted out of the pitch in a limping state by the medical staff.
The 24-year-old defensive midfielder made her debut for the France National Team in 2017 and counts eight goals to her name.
France Women’s National team gaffer, Corinne Deacon named her final 23-player squad for Euro 2022 in May and kept aside ten yet to-be identified players as reserves of the team for the Euro 2020 competition.
One of these players may end a call up as replacement for Grace Goyoro should in case her injury turns out to be much more severe.
France will kick off their Euro 2022 campaign against Italy at the New York Stadium in Rotherham on July 10, before meeting Belgium and Iceland in their second and third group fixtures.
The girls of Coach Corine, have two more friendlies to handle against Cameroon on June 25 and Vietnam on July 1st, before Euro 2022 campaign gets underway.
