The headcoach of the Cameroon’s female football selection,Alain Djeumfa has made public a list of 23 players to represent the country in a Pre-Tournament competition in China scheduled to run from the 1st-9th April 2019.
11 players of the 23 players called up ply their trade with Cameroon’s domestic league and the rest all spread across different leagues in Europe.
The squad also comprises of a good number of players present during their 2016 and 2018 AWCON.
Prominent among the players called up are team captain Mani Patience,Feudjio Raissa,Gaëlle Enganamouit,Ngono Mani,Nchout Ajara and Aboudi Onguene.
The 2016 Vice Africa champions will use the tournament to build up for the world cup in France this year.
This comes after a lot of worries were raised with regards to the teams build towards France 2019.
Unlike Nigeria and South Africa who booked a ticket and have had a plethora of international matches already,Cameroon is yet to follow suit.
Cameroon are yet to play in an international game since qualifying for female world cup.
Their last international game was in December 2018 when they lost to Nigeria in the semi final of the 2018 Women Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.
However,the lionesses have been in camp in Yaounde where the played amateur teams in warm up games.
Cameroon is upbeat to reach the 1/4 final in this year’s event since their demise at the round of 16 in 2015.
Cameroon are paired alongside New Zealand, Netherlands and 2015 host Canada.
The 2019 women world cup in France will take place for June 7th to July 7th.
