Former Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and Cotonsport head coach Denis Lavagne is heavily-linked with a move to Tanzanian giants Azam FC.
According to a tweet from African football hub Nuhu Adams the 56-year-old French tactician is in advanced negotiations with the head coach role which is currently occupied by underfire Romanian Aristică Cioabă.
The 49-year-old Romanian current trainer of the second-seeded Tanzania side have struggled in the last five games winning just one of their games in the time and lost the top spot in the championship to Yanga SC following a one-nil defeat this week.
Levagne led Cameroon’s senior selection between October 2011 and September 2012 and has worked in not less than six African countries.
His most recent job was at Algerian side CS Constantine till December 2019.
The erstwhile Le Havre, Al Hilal and Étoile du Sahel trainer has it all to restore Azam FC’s form in the start of the current season.
Azam FC won their first eight games this season but the wheels seems to have came off for a while now.
Azam FC of Thierry Akono are on the road in match-day 13 of the Tanzania Vodacom Premier League.
They travel to 10th placed Biashara United on Thursday.
