Born in Yaoundé on July 8, 1983, former Cameroon international central defender Eric Benoit Matoukou who currently plays his football for Crossing Schaerbeek has played his professional football notably in the top flights of Belgium and Ukraine.
He was crowned Belgian champion in 2011 with Genk and had won the Belgian cup two years earlier with the same club.
Matoukou also brief spells in Cyprus with Pafos FC and Finland with Inter Turku.
He is regarded as one of the best defenders ever to have played in the Belgian Jupiler League.
Matoukou International career in Cameroon was not as glorious as his days with Genk, winning just 6 caps.
At the age of 38, Eric Matoukou has just obtained his UEFA B coaching license and he is already projecting to the new challenges that life on the dugout will come with.
