28 year old multiple goal medalist Caster Semenya, has joined Gauteng-based Women’s football team JVW FC.

The club owned by the current captain of the South African Women’s football team is named after Janine Van Wyk and the club will be Caster Semenya’s first professional football club when her administrative works are completed next season.

Caster reported joined the club for an undisclosed fee and could be on her way to writing a new chapter in her sporting career.

I am grateful for this opportunity and I appreciate the love and support I already get from the team. I am looking forward to this new journey, and hopefully I can contribute as much as I can to the club.” the record Woman Twitted

With the IAAF keen on placing Banana peelings on the career of one of Africa’s greatest Athlete of all time, Caster has turn towards her passion, football, and could be one of the main attractions in the 2020 South African Women’s Sasol championship.

With the close of the current transfer window Caster will be restricted to just practice games giving her sufficient time to prepare for his debut.

“I am extremely elated to have such an iconic athlete join my football club. I am absolutely honoured that out of all the other Women’s Football clubs around the world, she has chosen JVW as the club where she would like to start showcasing her football skills. I welcomed her at her first training with the team on Tuesday, and was impressed to see that she definitely has all the fundamentals. I look forward to her working with Coach Ciara and our First Team where I am sure she will sharpen up and get ready to play in 2020. Although I won’t be here for the rest of the year, as I have just signed with Fortuna Hjorring, I have no doubt that Caster will fit right in, and enjoy her time at the club.” JVW CEO Janine Van Wyk posted.

In recent times, the club has brought in a good number of significant signings including former Banyana Banyana Captain Amanda Dlamini, Nompumelelo Nyandeni, Mamello Makhabane explaining the club’s excellent progress as they are amongst contenders for a playoff in the Sasol championship.

Another great Athlete Usain Bolt expressed similar passion for football last year but his football career eventually stopped before it started due to the multiple demands of soccer amongst other reasons.
