The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has unearthed a Fake ID scam where three Division One clubs have been found using forged cards to fulfil fixtures.
FAZ revealed the findings yesterday through a press conference where the General Secretary Adrian Kashala told the media that 12 cards had been confiscated from three Division One clubs in Muchinga Province over the weekend.
The three Division 1 clubs named in the scam are Tazara Rangers, Real Nakonde and Riverside Football Club.
The scam involved changing the photos on the players cards so as to allow other players with different names to play in place of the original card holder.
FAZ’s disciplinary committee will preside over the cases and Real Nakonde have already acted quickly by suspended their coach Emmanuel Chimfwembe pending investigations.
