If there is one player whose recent form has been worth entrusting Dragon Yaoundé’s relegation battle in his hands then it is Foning Tazon Foning.
The young striker has been a real value in the past seven games.
After missing tge entirefirst half of the season for personal reasons, the 20-year-old Cameroonian has come back to the country and Dragon Yaounde with real desire to perform.
He was on target on Sunday as Dragon Yaounde secured a 2-1 win over Panthère of Nde.
The goal was the forward’s third in seven games and to add to that he has assisted twice in that time.
Dragon Yaounde is still in the relegation zone in the 18-clubs Cameroon Elite One championship but with 27 points after their latest victory,Foning and his mates have their league destiny in their hands.
“We met a team that wanted to win but before kick off we had greater motivation. It is this motivation that gave us the victory”: Foning told kick442.com after the game.
They host Cotonsport in their next game in Yaounde before challenging PWD away and Feutcheu FC there after.
If the youngsters keep his form till the end of the season then the relegation battle will be an interesting one for a Dragon side hoping to stay in the Division they have been in since they were promoted in 2014.
