After losing their opening game 2-1 to Nasarawa Amazons at the ongoing Flying Officers Cup, Confluence Queens on Wednesday picked their first point by playing out a 2-2 draw with Bayelsa Queens, www.kick442.com reports.
Joy Omewa scored from a beautiful set piece in the 13th minute to beat Bayelsa Queens goalkeeper, Monle Omini. The former Confluence Queens goalie could not prevent her former side from taking the lead.
In order to salvage the game, Bayelsa Queens gaffer, Moses Aduku introduced the 2019 Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL Premiership highest goal scorer, Anjor in the second half of the match.
The substitution paid off as the prolific striker imposed herself in helping Bayelsa Queens even the score line. In the 51st minute, Anjor Mary powers herself through Joy Michael and gave a fantastic pass to Joy Jerry who made no mistake in scoring the equalising goal.

Confluence Queens restored their one goal lead from the penalty spot six minutes later. Rita Akarekor’s infringement on Hassan Suliyat inside the box resulted in a penalty which was converted by Winifred Eyebhoria.
Juliet Sunday made it 2-2 in the 65th minute.
Bayelsa Queens with four points will play Nasarawa Amazons in their last group game while Confluence Queens search for their first win against Honey Badgers in their final group game.
