2017-2018 Nigeria Women Premier League Champions, Bayelsa Queens have made it to the final of the 2020 Flying Officers Cup after a 1-0 win over defending Champions, Edo Queens on Saturday, www.kick442.com reports.

The highly competitive semi-final clash between the two Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL heavyweights was decided by Jumoke Alani’s own goal in the 71st minute during a goalmouth scramble.

Edo Queens made several attempts to equalise after going behind. Grace Henry forced a great save by Okeke in goal for Bayelsa Queens in the 74th minute after a lovely shot in a bid to immediately get the leveler.

Rollanson Odeh tutored side appeal for a penalty in the 80th minute was ignored by the referee as Edo Queens mounted more pressure on Bayelsa Queens’ defence.

Joy Bokiri was close to scoring the second goal for Bayelsa Queens six minutes from time after receiving a quick switch from Anjor Mary.

Bayelsa Queens will play the winner of the second semi-final clash between Nasarawa Amazons and Naija Ratels FC.

The defending Champions, Edo Queens will not defend their title as they await the loser of the game between Nasarawa Amazons and Naija Ratels for a third-place finish and a chance of going back to Benin with N200,000.
